Making the links between the economy, decent work, the environment and the global fight against poverty. The Put People First G20 Counter Conference is one of two alternative G20 conferences being held simultaneously in London and St Andrews on November 7th to coincide with the G20 finance ministers meeting on 7th-8th November. The conference will take place at Westminster Central Hall, a fantastic venue right in the heart of London.
The Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) is calling on the governments of the G20 to accelerate their efforts to design and implement a green recovery plan which defends decent jobs and public services for all, mitigates the human cost of the crisis and protects the poorest, 70% of whom are women, while promoting sustainable growth that protects the planet.
This is the main preparatory meeting of finance ministers and central bankers ahead of the leaders' summit. Four working groups on regulation, cooperation, IMF reform and the World Bank, will present their reports at a meeting set to lay the groundwork for the London Summit.
